Microarray Meta-Analysis Tool (MMAT)

There is a need for powerful and user-friendly tools that analyze the interaction between genes in the bioinformatics area. Bayesian networks are a good choice for this modeling because of the stochastic nature of gene up and down regulation. The Microarray Meta-Analysis Analysis Tool (MMAT) is designed to use sequenced transcriptome data of microarray experiments to produce gene co-expression and regulatory models in the form of static and dynamic Bayesian networks. This microarray data can be combined from different experiments, and even across platforms through probe metadata analysis. The user can specify a subset of genes to analyze, and in the case of gene regulatory modeling, the user can also specify a custom time gap for the Markov lag of the dynamic Bayesian networks with missing time points filled in through interpolation. The produced Bayesian networks can be visualized as DOT graphs or in the popular Netica application.
